Just got back from CHI, the largest HCI conference, where Jie and I received an honorable mention award for our paper on conflict management strategies among volunteer content moderators on Twitch. We also had a poster/ late-breaking work about passive and active media use of BTS fans.
The conference was held in Hamburg this year which was a bit unusual I thought because it tends to be in major metropolitan cities, and compared to last year, few people wore masks so it really felt like we were back to how things used to be. Had a fun time looking at all the demos of people building cool technology- my favorite was an interactive installation that involved conducting an orchestra. Of course spent most of the time catching up with friends, although the number of friends attending seems to go down every year.
