Yesterday, I heard a very interesting phenomenom regarding the Internet’s effect on people’s sex lives. According to B, who is a family doctor and nutritionist, she is seeing an increasing number of married couples who are experiencing problems because the husband is unwilling to have sex with his wife.

The reason behind this is because the husband spent most of his older teenage and adult sexual life with his computer watching porn videos downloaded from (or streamed on) the web. Because the man was so used to watching and masturbating to extremely explicit and high-intense videos he doesn’t want to go through the emotional and physical strain of actual, physical sex with a partner. These couples, B said, have minimal sex (just enough to get pregnant for planned pregnancies); most of the husband’s sexual urges are relieved through masturbation with his computer in his study or computer room.
