My good friends June and Yu-Hao got the Outstanding Research award.
I’m so happy to announce that I won two awards for the 2011-2012 academic year. The first is the General Excellence Award for Outstanding Scholarship, Teaching and Citizenship given by my department. Apparently I had been nominated by three faculty members for the three different categories, a very humbling experience.
The second is the Rasmussen Scholarship awarded by the Michigan State University Graduate School for scholarship and integrity. I was very honored by this award because as an international student, I don’t qualify for most of the fellowships. I have no idea how I got this, but I think it may be because I served as the student representative for the Media and Information Studies steering committee and organized several events including a research integrity (authorship discussion) seminar.
