United Airlines has this great campaign where they send a plush toy bear to children with cancer. You can choose to donate your money or your miles to send a pair of Hugyou bears. The other option is to “share” a virtual bear on Facebook. Basically, this is a picture of two bears that you can post on the Wall of one of your Friends. For each bear shared, one mile will be donated to the campaign.
Considering the fact that 7,500 miles equals one bear, sending a virtual bear is really no comparison to sending a real bear (which requires a minimum $50 donation). However, it is a great brand marketing campaign and nice way to create awareness about children with cancer and help make people feel good with little effort.
