Singapore was too hot for comfort and wireless Internet was not available in the conference rooms, but ICA was generally a great first experience. I got to meet many of the established scholars in the field and practice networking (I’m really not good at this). I presented two papers, both went quite well and got a lot of supportive feedback. I wasn’t able to see much of Singapore (just a couple of the main tourist spots) and had to share a bed with my friend in a sweltering youth hostel, but it was a very interesting experience- looking forward to next year!
