#1. Viacom: Wins today as court rules in favor of its request to view all of Google’s viewer information regarding YouTube. Says they want to see if copyrighted material was key in YouTube’s success. Loses tomorrow because who gives a * what initially made YouTube popular. Now, a lot of the interesting content is user-generated. It should be using the money hiring lawyers to develop new business models.
#2. Netflix: Wins today as it further prepares itself for a smooth transition from analog to digital by pairing up with Tivo. Tivo won’t be here 10 years from now, but Netflix probably will.
#3. Comcast: Biggest loser for not taking advantage of its ISP status and not building an Internet TV service when it’s already doing cable TV. Talk about stupid.
