Google Gobbles up Korean Blog Developer

Google announced today (Friday) that it is taking over Tatter & Co. which is famous for its various blogging software. This is the first Korean company that Google has bought, and local media anticipates that it marks an aggressive move in the Korean market.

Tatter and Co. currently run Eolin, a meta blog service, and Textcube, a blog hosting service. The company, however, is more famous for developing TatterTools, an open-source blog building software. The software is primarily developed by Tatter Network Foundation (a community) and Needlworks.

Hopefully, Google will put this purchase to good use and make some much-needed improvements to Blogger. Not only does Blogger have an extremely ugly interface and poor features, but it also leaves very little room for personalization.
