I was given a research award by the College of Computing which is given to one faculty every year. After several years of being married to work it was nice to be acknowledged.


This was the bio that was read at the award ceremony:
Yvette is an associate professor in Informatics researching human computer interaction. She has 110 publications in leading conference proceedings and journals which have been cited over 4,700 times and featured in NPR, Wall Street Journal and Wired Magazine among others. Since joining NJIT she has received over $2.1 million in research funding from the National Science Foundation, Mozilla Foundation, and Yahoo among others. As director of the Social Interaction Lab, Yvette’s favorite part of the job is working with students. She has mentored over 80 students at NJIT and received the NCWIT Mentoring Award for Undergraduate Research.
