Reflection on Meaningful Play 2012

Posing with Dr. Carrie Heeter, wizard-in-chief!

Meaningful Play, a conference for “serious” games that takes place every two years, was hosted at Michigan State University last week. Unfortunately, I was not able to present anything this year, but had a lot of fun meeting game scholars and designers. (see my interview with Jessica Hammer on Play As Life)

I really enjoyed attending the game exhibition where people who develop games for “serious” purposes (mainly learning). These included not just digital games, but also board games.
