Cambridge, or at least the area around MIT, was evolving- and quickly. Many old brick buildings had been replaced with sleek glass structures and many more were on their way.
“Supposedly, they wanted this area to all all high-tech and everything because they’re MIT,” he said cynically. “There used to be a candy factory here and even when you drove past, you could smell the sweet sugary smell of candy being made. But the factory’s closed down and they got rid of the building too.”
I must agree that I’m not a Gehry fan, but this building was absolutely gorgeous!
