He marveled at how perfectly her curves fit his, like two jigsaw puzzle pieces. Her head was resting on his shoulder, nestled in the crook of his arm like a baby goose, yet he did not know why he was the one that felt protected.
It was so funny how quickly she fell asleep. With a big silly grin plastered on her face, she would seek his shoulder and begin warbling along about nothing in particular, then drift off to sleep– all in the course of less than a minute.
For him, it took at least ten. Resting his cheek on her head, he would contemplate over the details of their most recent escapade, lingering over certain memories like he would roll wine under his tongue, to cherish the flavor. When he reached the conclusion that the day had ended on the most satisfactory note, he let himself be lulled to sleep by the soft sounds of her breathing.
